In order to help you populate your workspace, Workstream's Chrome extension now includes functionality that enables you to populate your workspace without manually adding assets. This article explores how this feature works, and the settings you can use to customize the experience.

How does adding assets automatically work?

All you have to do in order to add a new asset is to navigate to that asset while you are logged into the extension. The Concierge automatically identifies whether an asset exists in Workstream, and if it doesn't, will add it automatically. The asset is immediately available for curation or to be added to a collection, both through the web app and the extension.

All assets added in this way are set to a private sharing status, meaning that others on your team won't see them unless you explicitly share it with them. You can read more about sharing assets here.

How can I control which assets are added, or turn auto-add off?

If you would prefer not to have your assets added automatically, you can turn off the feature via the "Settings" menu.

Head to the "My connected apps" tab, find the extension, and click on the three dots to locate the "Update Settings" option.

From there, you have the option to toggle auto-adding on or off.

Please note: auto-add settings are enabled or disabled at the user level. To turn off auto-add at the workspace level, please contact Workstream Support.

You also have the ability to turn auto-add on or off depending on the asset type. The same "Update Settings" page has toggles for each available integration.

Due to provider limitations, there are some asset types that are not currently supported for auto-add. These can still be added through the extension, but you must do so manually.
